What is U-Report?
U-Report is a free, anonymous, and non-exclusive social messaging platform through which our youth aged 13 to 29 can speak out on issues they care about and receive important content that promotes personal, community and national development. Created by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), U-Report is currently active in over 60 countries across the world including Trinidad and Tobago.
In the nine years since launch in Uganda in 2011, U-Report has brought about law changes, exposed sex for grades crises, supported peace processes, combated cyber bullying and taken the voice of youth to high level forums on migration, HIV, SDGs and much more… On top of that U-Report is a tool used for mental health chat lines, menstrual health live chats, to provide migrants with legal advice on documentation, peer to peer counselling services, information hubs to combat the spread of cholera, Zika, Ebola... and a thousand other things. It’s enabled us to provide life-saving information after hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, landslides and volcano eruptions. It’s as virulent offline as online, spawning U-Report conferences, clean up days, adolescents teaching younger children in remote communities, Christmas dinner parties… the list really is endless!
Sign up for U-Report
You can sign up for U-Report Trinidad and Tobago through Facebook Messenger by clicking on "send message" (or click the floating messenger bubble right here on our website, look to your right!) and following the instructions, or via SMS by texting the word “join” to the number “8868” (remember, all texts from any network is 100% free!).

When we go to school tours and events to promote U-Report do you want to be there alongside us? Do you have ideas for events and activities that can get young people excited about U-Report and more engaged with the platform? If yes, then you're already a Mobilizer, now all you've got to do is join us!
In order to be a Mobilizer you must first sign up for U-Report.

- Position as a U-Report Mobilizer can be communicated on a resume and social media

We need Champions!
| Every cause needs a Champion. Do you want to use advocacy and/or activism to hold our leaders accountable for their actions or lack thereof? |
The priority areas for U-Report TT Champions this year will be in the areas of environment, education, and violence. Last year U-Reporters would have identified many issues, and proposed many solutions in those areas. Do any of those areas resonate with you? Every cause needs a Champion, your cause needs you!
In order to be a Champion you must first sign up for U-Report.
Benefits of being a Champion:
- Get hands-on experience with various skills
- Champions may have the opportunity to participate in advocacy events facilitated by U-Report or its partners locally, regionally, or internationally
- Position as a U-Report Mobilizer can be communicated on a resume and social media
- Upon successful completion of their term, Champions will receive a Certificate of participation

- Provide opportunities and facilitate dialogue on youth issues with relevant organizations
- Contribute to the creation of accountable and transparent governance by encouraging youth to engage with U-Report, thereby increasing their awareness, commitment, and capacity to challenge government action or inaction through democratic and peaceful means
- Position as a U-Report Promoter can be communicated on resume and social media
