Introducing the U-Report Youth Steering Committee 2024-2025


Kellie Shanice Simmons (31)

Kellie is a vibrant member of the Down Syndrome Family Network (DSFN). She finds joy in playing the steel-pan, participating in sports, and advocating for the DSFN and the Special Olympics Committee. Kellie is passionate about nurturing young talent, especially in sports. She was drawn to the U-Report Youth Committee by her love for collaboration and, her desire to create inclusive messages for youth facing mental challenges or Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).


Dayreon Mitchell (29) 

Dayreon serves as the dynamic president of the Tobago Youth Council. He enjoys playing and coaching volleyball, organising events, creating content, and piloting drones. Dayreon is deeply invested in youth development, particularly in education, mental health, leadership, employment, and social inclusion. Joining the U-Report Youth Committee, he anticipates expanding his engagement in collaboration, advocacy, innovation, and community involvement.


Jeremy Baptiste (28) 

Jeremy is a dedicated representative of the Trinidad Youth Council. His passion lies in empowering youth and amplifying their voices to influence policymakers. This is the motivation for his involvement in the U-Report Youth Committee. He is especially drawn to capacity building, youth empowerment, and advocating for youth inclusion in various sectors. Jeremy hopes to bridge the gap between policymakers and marginalized youth in Trinidad and Tobago through his participation.


Nicola Edwards (22) 

Nicola represents the La Brea Police Youth Club with enthusiasm. She enjoys literature, volunteering, and engaging in community and youth development initiatives. Nicola is committed to creating opportunities for marginalized youth to thrive personally, academically, and professionally. Joining the U-Report Youth Committee, she looks forward to collaborating with like-minded individuals to uplift young people in Trinidad and Tobago.


Oshun Trim (25) 

Oshun Trim, the founder of The Phoenix Society, is a visionary in using Arts and Culture for holistic youth development. She is passionate about Tourism, Arts, Culture, youth development, volunteering, and networking. Oshun is particularly interested in fostering creativity and innovation among young people, empowering them to become agents of social change. As a member of the U-Report Youth Committee, she aims to cultivate collaboration, mentorship, and guidance for youth while fostering an environment of creativity.


Jessica Forbes (25) 

Jessica represents the Trinidad and Tobago Youth Ambassadors and is a multifaceted individual with interests ranging from cricket and cooking to singing. Driven by a passion for youth development, she focuses on educational advancement, self-improvement, intellectual capital training, and health initiatives. Jessica hopes to impact youths affected by societal issues through the U-Report Youth Committee, offering resources and support for a brighter future.


Sheanna Rampersad (26)

Sheanna represents The Girl Guides Association of Trinidad and Tobago and brings with her a blend of interests in finance, communication, leadership, and hobbies like bullet journaling, reading, and travelling to the committee. She desires to engage in youth-focused activities, as she aims to foster interpersonal development in communication, leadership, advocacy, and finance. Committed to contributing meaningfully, Sheanna aspires to make a difference in these vital areas.


Jehoshua Williams (20) 

Jehoshua, affiliated with ChildLine, has an interest in the legal field and creating opportunities for youths, particularly in education. When not engaged in advocacy, he enjoys weightlifting. As a member of the U-Report Committee, he aims to extend the positive impact of ChildLine to empower the youth nationally. He is particularly drawn to initiatives providing educational, sporting, and employment opportunities. Jehoshua's expectations of the committee are centred on amplifying youth voices, ensuring they are heard and valued in decision-making processes.


Asia Jerome (15)

Asia occupies her spare time with a variety of hobbies including singing, playing different instruments, and operating music and media systems. She is passionate about reaching young people through religion, and about redirecting those in need onto a more positive path. Asia is passionate about communication strategy, and encouraging others to meet their full potential. Her expectation of being a part of this committee is to do her part in helping other young people recognize and utilise the positive opportunities that come their way.


Skyla Hacket (23) -

Skyla is a member of the UWI STA Law Society, Skyla’s current areas of interest include Renewable Energy and Occupational Health & Safety. She believes education is the most important tool in life, and that all young people should have access to it. She hopes that her time on the U-Report Youth Committee will allow her to interact with a wider range of youths from all backgrounds, gaining realistic insight into their lives and the issues which affect them the most, and assisting them, especially in the area of education.


Zion Benjamin (20)

Zion’s areas of interest include youth leadership, advocacy, and sustainable development. As the Deputy CARICOM Youth Ambassador for Trinidad and Vice-Chairman of the Heroes Foundation, he has had a wide range of experience in understanding and utilising data to develop purpose-built solutions to the issues faced by young people in today’s social and political climate. As a member of the U-Report Youth Committee, he is committed to representing the voices of young people from marginalised communities, and ensuring that their perspectives are included in the decision-making process. Additionally, he aims to foster greater youth engagement in decision-making and encourage young people to speak on pressing social issues and their solutions.


Danesha Roberts (25)

Danesha is a member of the Rotaract Club of Tobago. She is passionate about health and wellness, cosmetic production, and working to transform the lives of young people. She was inspired by the U-Report Youth Committee's mission of youth advocacy and expects to work alongside her teammates to bring awareness to the work that the organization does and use the collected data to implement valuable projects throughout the country.
